In the first quarter, the number of property transactions in Bulgaria has increased by 23%

According to the Registry Agency, from January to March 2013 in Bulgaria there were 44 174 real estate transactions, or 23% more than in the first quarter of 2012 (35 821).
According Post Bank 5 811 transactions concluded in 2013 or 11%, were committed by mortgage loans. Since the beginning of the year, the bank had registered 25% increase in interests of obtaining a mortgage. Another feature of this year was the fact that 74.5% of mortgage loans were obtained in BGN, while last year the figure was 50%.
"We expect the trend of mortgage loans in BGN to continue rising this year reaching up to 80%," said Rumen Radushev, head of the "Mortgage Loans" in the bank.
According to the bank, more than 40% of mortgage loans were received in Sofia, on average amount of 20 thousand euros, or 10 thousand euros less than last year. Every third loan is for more than 25 years.
72.4% of mortgage loans were issued for the purchase of apartments in monolithic buildings and 27.3% in panel buildings. The share of loans allocated for the purchase of land, accounted for only 0.3%.
